Responsibilities:
- This person will work primarily on parts for Food Processing equipment such as conveyors, slicers, dumpers and anything needed for meat processing lines. There is a SolidWorks library for standard parts, with the opportunity to design new parts
- Performs complex engineering calculations using algebraic, trigonometric, and geometric formulas.
- Uses standard product engineering data to develop product configuration.
- Utilizes computer aided design techniques to perform applicable design work.
- May supervise experimental manufacture and testing of finished product.
- Acts as the design lead for major projects and may supervise the activities of other designers and drafters.
- Responsible for correct proportions, consideration of stress, speed, motion, weight, operational details, customer specifications, and the incorporation of usable parts that may be in production.
- Designs are to include appropriate dimensions, tolerances, fasteners, and joining requirements.
- Works with engineers to complete the design documentation package including BOM's and routings.
Skills:
- Two-year technical degree/certification helpful but not required.
- High degree of technical knowledge and skill preferred but not required.
- Four years of experience in mechanical drafting and design preferred, but not required.
- Open to entry level SolidWorks drafters
- Knowledge of Food Processing equipment
Qualifications:
- Requires a high school diploma.
- Able to pass pre-employment screening including a drug screen
- SolidWorks experience
- Basic Microsoft and Excel experience
- Mechanical aptitude, experience
- Basic understanding of mechanical machine design
- Available for occasional travel
