Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Procurement Specialist. The Procurement Specialist will purchase goods according to departmental and organizational procedures. This includes making sure all materials are ordered at the best possible time, following up on processes and reporting, communicating issues and working them through to resolution.
Responsibilities:
- Purchase goods according to company standard operating procedure.
- Create purchase orders and send them to all applicable vendors.
- Monitor arrival times to ensure that material arrives in time for installation.
- Reach out to vendor representatives if delivery dates change.
- Contact vendor representatives to expedite any back ordered and expedited materials needed.
- Identify and resolve any pricing errors and invoice discrepancies.
- Coordinate with managers to maintain inventory levels.
- Evaluate vendors based on price, reliability, capability, and previous transaction history.
- Assist with accounts payable reconciliations as needed.
- Provides recommendations for enhanced or new production processes.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Thorough understanding of purchasing procedures and policies.
- Highly analytical and detail oriented
- Excellent project and time-management skills.
- Minimum of two years of purchasing experience preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Experience with RFMS and/or similar Enterprise Resource System preferred.
