Faurecia Clean Mobility develops and produces solutions to drive Mobility and Industry towards zero emission. Our solutions for air quality, energy efficiency, acoustic performance and powertrain electrification address the needs of passenger cars and commercial vehicles manufacturers, industrial and high horsepower applications.
We need strong expertise and key competencies also displaying high energy and agility, so we are looking for Assembly Specialist for our Hydrogen Solutions team at our R&D center in Auburn Hills, MI.
Main Responsibilities:
The Assembly Specialist is responsible to ensure the Hydrogen Storage Systems assembly line and process are properly designed to meet the requirements for quality, cost, and delivery (QCD) and for capturing and transferring knowledge related to assembly processes including equipment, techniques, and materials.
In this role, we will need you to:
- Define assembly associated equipment required for manufacturing hydrogen storage systems, taking into consideration product requirements and industrial constraints, as well as lessons learned
- Actively support manufacturing process development with a rigorous problem-solving mindset.
- Ensure competence transfer from a pilot line to a final production environment.
- Evaluate feasibility, safety and technical impact, and cost for engineering change requests (ECR)
- Create and revise internal and external (suppliers) technical documents.
- Lead technical discussions with equipment suppliers for components and system related components.
- Participate on technical exchanges with customers/suppliers to improve technical proposals for RFQ/RFI.
- Active participate in internal technical networks exchanging knowledge and lessons learned capitalization.
- Develop and capitalize processes and specifications related to his/her Field of expertise (Standardization)
- Support new product developments by validating assembly process and equipment choices through the creation and execution of robust process validation plans
- Supervise prototypes and pre-series manufacturing and propose improvement ideas for the end of line process
- Validate prototype and production equipment for hydrogen storage systems respecting QCD and industrial rules (FES)
- Ensure competencies transfer to Plants by transversalizing best practices within the network team and provide support for plant teams during series ramp-up in Plant
- Respect the rules of safety & environment management system
- Take into consideration security constraints linked to Hydrogen and high pressure when defining manufacturing processes
- Specify, maintain and propose improvements of standard assembly process in his/her domain of Expertise (tooling, equipment)
- Guide the PMLs when selecting available equipment and line layout
- Support the PML to manage timing plan for all related line equipment as well as associated convergence plan (including risk assessment and closure)
- Support Teams during series ramp-up in Plant
- This Position Requires 30% Travel (Domestic and International)
Qualifications:
The ideal applicant would have:
- B.S or M.S. in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with 5/10 years of experience in manufacturing and product development
- Knowledge in mechanical construction, line layout, equipment specifications are mandatory; additional knowledge in robotics will be appreciated.
- Previous experience on process including products with an expected high level of cleanliness is a plus
- In plant experienced with the launch of manufacturing process
- Experience in scaling up from pilot line\low volume process to a production environment considering gap and risk analysis.
- Familiar with lean development and industrial performance tools, sensibility to quality and safety
- Team player and international mindset
- Ability to structure and capitalize know-how
- Bi-lingual (English Required)
