Job Description
Our nationally recognized CPG client is seeking a Process Engineer to join their packaging operations team.
The Process Engineer is responsible for improving manufacturing processes throughout the plant – responsible for identifying, evaluating, developing, designing, and implementing improvements, packaging asset replacement/upgrade projects, packaging systems optimization, process changes, and new technologies to achieve increased productivity, enhanced manufacturing flexibility and capacity, improved product quality, safer operations, and ensures environmental compliance.
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering discipline or Associate’s with 6-sigma Certification
- Experience in high speed packaging with a focus on Lean/Process Improvement
- Experience identifying faults and tracking equipment malfunctions utilizing Allen Bradley PLCs and Wonderware
- Understanding and application of Lean: AM, PM, FI
- In-depth understanding and track record of delivering operational packaging line processes that drive safety, quality, cost improvements
- Knowledge of Process Improvement, Statistical Process Control through 6Sigma tools • Skills
Job Description
- Recommend manufacturing equipment and processes designed to be efficient, cost-effective, and to promote safety, quality, and reliability
- Use Lean/6Sigma practices to assess current equipment and processes, and makes recommendations for changes to ensure the most efficient and productive layout
- Through DMAIC, design of experiment and focused improvement tools eliminates equipment breakdowns
- Coach and engage coworkers (including operators, leads, supervisors, process leaders, and line leaders) with AM Lean tools (PDCA, CIL, 5 Whys, etc..) to increase efficiency and effectiveness of our work systems aimed at eliminating minor stops
- Help establish a feedback loop from coworkers by soliciting and acting on their input around opportunities to drive equipment and process improvements.
- Recommend improvements to equipment layout to improve process flow
- Conducts tests throughout all stages of production to determine control over applicable variables and troubleshooting/solving production problems
- Help digitalizing the shopfloor
- Identify and execute solutions to reduce change over times
- Help management in expanding our shop-floor training program for new hires
