As a Process Engineer, you will work on the development of new products.
Areas of Responsibilities:
DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Play a role in the development, optimization and/or process improvements of new Products.
- Scale up products from the laboratory to full scale production and develop appropriate analytical methods. Identify methods to improve efficiency, lower operational costs and reduce waste.
- Coordinate Plant Trials and shelf-life testing to ensure products are not adversely affected by changes in seasoning or packaging. Provide appropriate documentation identifying how any changes would impact our finished product.
- Is responsible to keep and maintain manufacturing parameters data updated. Collect and review manufacturing parameters data to reduce inefficiencies and waste. Promotes a culture of continuous improvement. On a monthly basis, analyze manufacturing parameters data and create reports to present processes consistency.
- Analyze company's processes and makes suggestions on how to improve them, working with the Operations and Supply Chain teams in recognizing opportunities, making, and implementing changes, and sustaining improvement.
- Uses a variety of skills and tools such as project design, Six Sigma principles, leadership, and management in order to ensure continuous improvement and operations excellence.
- Teaching, leading, and coaching cross-functional teams on Lean Manufacturing and Lean Six Sigma tools and methodology.
- Is responsible to assist in preparing the whole plant and facility to receive and attend third party food safety auditors along with Quality Assurance Manager.
- Identify and develop technical solutions for Sales and Marketing in order to capture incremental sales.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Identify and implement methods to help reduce cost
- Conduct on-going Shelf-Life testing as required by our BRC program.
- Conduct cost reduction initiatives
- Develop the Statistical Process Control Program
Education and Experience:
REQUIRED:
- Bachelors Degree in Food science / Engineering /Chemistry
- 5 years of experience in food manufacturing/BRC Compliance
- Experience with Data manipulation, analysis, presentations (Microsoft programs), 6 Sigma methodologies, LEAN manufacturing and good problem solving skills
