The Senior Process Engineer is responsible for the timely completion of process improvement, cost savings and quality improvement projects. This position is also responsible for manufacturing support through troubleshooting and correcting manufacturing process issues, while utilizing proper procedural documentation.
The Senior Process Engineer must understand technical standards, related products, programs and services, working under the guidance of the Process Engineering Manager, Product Development, while performing these duties in a timely manner.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Support the introduction of new products and processes to production.
- Provide process planning support for Design Engineering.
- Oversee Process Engineering experimental trials and activities.
- Report Process Engineering experimental trial findings to the appropriate management for evaluation.
- Facilitate Process Engineering projects.
- Provide support for “Lean”, capacity or quality improvement activities.
- Oversee the installation of new manufacturing equipment.
- Evaluates and determines the root cause of process related problems and determines a robust procedure to improve effected area.
- Works to continuously improve all manufacturing processes.
- Report and recommend areas that need improvement.
- Pursue continuous cost savings efforts.
- Purchases tips/dies/screws and any related tooling necessary for Process Engineering activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering
- 4+ years of manufacturing experience
- Experience in process driven, continuous operations.
- Experience with process control and new product introduction technologies
- Strong record of Lean Six Sigma Tools implementation
