The Process Engineer is responsible for the performance results of Process Engineering and Quality Assurance. The selected individual(s) will be viewed as key technology leaders, and serve as resources for the region with overall accountability for process control systems, quality and process problem resolution, and change management. The individuals will also work with regional site leadership to achieve performance measure goals, and to drive the continuous improvement process.Division: Consumer Packaging North America (CPNA)Location: Various plant locations throughout the United States Reports to: Site Plant Manager
Responsibilities
Ensures compliance with all corporate and plant safety policies and procedures Maintains ISO compliant process and quality records Provides leadership direction, coaching, and training for all process team members Utilizes process control methodology (Six Sigma, SPC, Designed Experiments, etc...) to solve problems and improve process control and capability Plan and direct the efforts of the process technicians in investigating and resolving manufacturing or quality issues, making recommendations for preventive action, optimizing current products and processes and commercializing new products Develop and maintain systems including performance measurements, failure costs, control systems, quality standards, product and process capability for all raw materials and finished products by utilizing such tools as statistical methods, pareto charts, flow charting and failure mode effects analysis Establish and maintain a process and quality assurance audit function to ensure compliance to standards and specifications. Develop corrective action plans and systems Direct efforts in gaining and maintaining knowledge of trends in the industry that lead to improvements in product quality, product consistency, process efficiency or cost reductions Work with the plant teams to define process specifications, which include machinery set-ups, operating conditions, set points, tolerances, processing procedures and packaging specifications, based on a strong understanding of customer requirements Assist in preparation of capital expenditure requests to improve existing operations, increase efficiencies, improve product quality or commercialize new technologies Serves as a resource on plant technologies, control systems, and raw materials. Initiates and assists with implementation of process control improvements using DMAIC planning process Support the effective implementation of investment projects approved for capacity or facility expansion and upgrades Ensures plans are in place to meet all performance indicator targets/goals Serve as the reserve shift supervisor, as needed Other responsibilities as assigned
QualificationsBS in Engineering or equivalent experience Minimum of 7 years in Process, Maintenance, or Operations roles in a manufacturing environment preferred Experience in Injection Molding is a substantial plus Competency in employee engaged people leadership Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent interpersonal effectiveness in order to support our team-based culture Must possess a passion for excellence and the desire to succeed
