  • This job is a member of the Technology Transformation Team within the Information Technology Division and is critical to the success of American Airlines’ technology transformation. You’ll partner closely with key leaders across the company to influence the strategic direction that directly enables the technology vision and mission.
  • Responsible for acting as the liaison across program leadership, providing a broader understanding of transformation interests, concerns, and requirements. They provide the unique combination of business knowledge, understanding of technical direction, and leadership to facilitate the interpretation and defining of requirements for the program. This will include design, development and deployment of solutions across technology and product management team members and leaders.

What you'll do

  • Manages program level activities and artifacts
  • Manages dependencies and helps prioritize work accordingly
  • Tracks and communicates program changes, facilitating decisions and discussions with all levels of leadership up to and including executives
  • Tracks benefits and manages risks at the program level
  • Acts as an escalation point for program risks and issues
  • Tracks and communicates program status and costs

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Project Management, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems
  • (CIS/MIS), Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training
  • 3+ years of Program or Project Management experience
  • 5+ years of progressive broad-based information systems and business experience
  • Proven experience facilitating effective decisions with executive-level leaders


Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Experience scaling complex programs that are transformational in nature as a business lead
  • Proven experience tracking and managing business cases and budgets
  • MBA or other advanced degree, or equivalent experience in strategy and financial analysis


Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • Proactive, organized, accurate, fast and detail-oriented with strong interpersonal, planning and time management skills
  • Excellent leadership skills, including negotiation, critical thinking, management of company politics, building good relationships, coaching project managers and ability to think strategically and conceptually across projects to achieve lasting bottom-line results
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills
  • Strong knowledge of agile and product management principles
