Position Summary:
Reports to the Vice President, Corrections as assigned. Responsible for development, implementation and evaluation of correctional programs and supporting policies and processes.
Essential Functions:
Develop and implement appropriate correctional programs which will enhance the rehabilitative nature of MTC correctional facilities. Programs include academic education, vocational training, life skills training, religious services, substance abuse treatment, social work and counseling.
Conduct research, analyze data and write accurate comprehensive reports.
Provide technical assistance, support and training to educational and programming staff.
Audit and track program performance, including comprehensive audit components related to programs and continuing quality improvement strategies.
Assist in the development, implementation and achievement of programming goals at each correctional facility.
Develop, initiate and monitor statistical data related to the performance criteria and recidivism impact MTC has on supervised populations.
Suggest strategies and pilot test innovative ideas to improve facility performance in the assigned program area.
Work in conjunction with each facilities Wardens of Programs, Program Managers and/or Education Administrator, and provide an innovative and seamless approach to program services.
Maintain accountability of property; adheres to safety practices.
Must be willing and able to travel designated sites.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including partners and community members.
It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/her capabilities as determined by management.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years related experience. Master's degree desired.
Should have knowledge related to correctional education, vocation principles of effective intervention and recidivism reduction.
Must be willing and able to travel.
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Unless waived by management, valid driver's license in the state of employment with an acceptable driving record.
