Raytheon provides end-to-end space solutions - from ground control systems to on-orbit sensors - to keep our customers informed and ahead of the threat. Each day, ground stations receive vast amounts of data from satellites in orbit. Using complex algorithms, they process all of the bits and bytes received and turn them into useable information for the end users who consume this data. As the volume of data grows, ground stations need to evolve and adapt.
Job Summary:
Our highly skilled Software Engineers develop new technologies that advance our Nation's defense capabilities. In this position, you will be part of a team responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of next-generation satellite mission software. You will work independently as well as part of a larger collaborative team onsite in Aurora, Colorado developing code and resolving issues to deliver solutions that are clear of deficiencies and meet our customer's requirements.

The salary range for this role is 94,000 USD - 196,000 USD; however, RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Clearance / Citizenship Requirements:
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Required Skills/Experience
- This role typically requires 8-10 years of progressive technical (hands-on) experience related to Software Engineering, development, and implementation
- 5-7 years of experience with object-oriented software development using a combination of Java and C within a Linux environment
- Minimum of 3 years hands-on experience with software test and test automation tools, such as: Eclipse, Pycharm, Junit, Artifactory, Cucumber, Eggplant, Gherkin, Jenkins, ClearQuest, ClearCase, Gradle, Git
- Minimum of 3 years hands-on experience with Atlassian Tool suite: Jira, Confluence,
- Demonstrated working knowledge of development in an Agile and/or DevOps environment
Desired Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of the following: PNT and JPL interfaces, unite and automated functional testing
- Experience developing APIs (REST, JSON, SOAP)
- Previous work with satellite ground system software or satellite GPS software desirable but not necessary
Typical Education/Experience
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
