By stepping into this role, you will become an integral part of a team within one of our partner organizations, tasked with the design and implementation of expansive software solutions. As a Ground System Software Engineer, based in Aurora, CO, you will harness the potential of advanced space network ground segments and contribute to cutting-edge satellite operations that serve a spectrum of intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance functions on a global scale. Your innovative spirit will find a home in our dynamic, agile team environment, where the evolving needs of our customers drive the forefront of technological advancement.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Engineer software for state-of-the-art satellite ground systems, interfacing with space network segments and global user base.
- Play a pivotal role in managing the operations of groundbreaking satellites that provide intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance services to a diverse clientele.
- Engage in the entire software lifecycle, from design and development to testing, delivery, and ongoing maintenance.
- Gain hands-on experience with a range of technologies and methods, such as Multi-Tiered Architectures, Amazon Web Services, Geospatial Visualization, Digital Engineering, and Automation Frameworks that bolster complex space missions.
- Employ contemporary DevSecOps development practices and embrace Agile methodologies.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- A Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) combined with at least five years of experience in Software Engineering.
- Proven skills in developing software with Java.
- Proven skills in developing software with C++.
- An active and transferable Top Secret U.S. government-issued security clearance, with the necessity to obtain and sustain a TS/SCI clearance. Note: This position is open exclusively to U.S. citizens due to security clearance requirements.
NICE TO HAVES
- A strong grasp of Software Engineering principles and industry best practices.
- Expertise in object-oriented analysis and design.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
- Proficiency in LINUX/UNIX operating systems.
- Experience in deploying applications on the AWS Cloud.
- Practical knowledge of microservices architecture utilizing Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with DevOps, Continuous Integration, and Continuous Deployment processes.
Compensation: $125,000-160,000 annually. A final offer will be based on the candidate's experience and skillset and the company salary range for either a midlevel or senior software developer position. Relocation assistance is available on a case-by-case basis.
