Job Description
- Engages in direct staff hours of service for assigned clients
- Provides prevention counseling sessions to middle school students throughout Monroe County
- Conducts group TGFDV lessons
- Refers client to counselor, psychologist, psychiatrist when appropriate
- Monitors Prevention activities including those performed by Prevention Specialist
- Coordinates with schools and school personnel to provide TGFD classes
- Attend Prevention Program quarterly meetings, training and annual conference
- Functions as a liaison for prevention to outside agencies including schools, childrens shelter and outside agencies
- Demonstrates empathetic, professional behavior toward student, families, and school personnel
- Complete satisfaction surveys with participants
- Enhance and implement changes noted in performance improvement activities
- Participates in required staff development / training activities
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Graduation from an accredited four-year college with a degree in Addiction Counseling, Criminal Justice, Social Work, Psychology or related field is required
- Two years of related work experience in Mental Health, and / or Substance Abuse field preferred
- Ability to meet requirements of Monroe County Sheriffs Office background check
- CPR Certification, First Aid Certification and an annual Tuberculosis test.
- Ability to provide an Affidavit of Good Moral Character
- Clearance in Pre-Employment Drug Testing and Criminal Records Checks, as required.
