Qualifications and Skills:
An Associate's Degree in the Human or Social Services area and two or more years of experience in child advocacy, support, intervention, or mentoring. Substitute a Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience with a minimum of a high school diploma or GED. Formal education and experience within the field are preferred. Must pass a level two background and work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
· Must exhibit excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
· Must possess emotional intelligence and cultural humility.
· Must be committed to establishing and maintaining respectful and equitable relationships with survivors of domestic violence, peers, staff, volunteers, and community partners/members.
· Must effectively implement trauma-informed practices to serve survivors of domestic violence, advocate on high-lethality cases, and provide conflict resolution and crisis de-escalation techniques.
· Must have knowledge and familiarity with the criminal justice system and Law Enforcement about procedures addressing and affecting domestic violence victims.
· Experience using MS Office, database systems, and virtual platforms.
· Bilingual preferred, not required. (Creole/Spanish/ASL)
Physical Requirements:
This position requires sitting at a desk for up to 5 hours, climbing stairs, using a computer, and standing for up to 3 hours. Must be able to drive to various locations throughout the school district to provide agency services, including training, group facilitation, inter-agency meetings, agency-related events, and participating in community and public speaking events. Must possess a valid Florida Driver's License., insurance, and dependable transportation.
Principal Job Responsibilities
- Maintain and enhance current relationships with schools and other Youth educational programs.
- Form new partnerships with schools and other Youth educational programs to promote the Prevention Program.
- Serve as an agency representative to community organizations whose primary efforts focus on meeting the needs of children.
- Facilitate and/or co-facilitate weekly groups in the Martin County School Districts Middle and High School locations and Martin, Saint Lucie, and Indian River Youth Community Organizations as requested.

- Facilitate educational presentations on domestic violence/teen dating violence to the community and/or other agencies upon request.
- Send Y.O.U.R. community event updates to Development for social media uploads. Remain current on research, policy, and best practices relating to teen dating violence and youth education. Serve as SafeSpace's public representative and expert on the issue of teen dating violence and teen healthy relationships (as directed).
- Assisted in developing, implementing, and evaluating SafeSpace, Inc. Prevention Program Deliverables.
- Work with the Outreach Manager and/ or Director of Programs to create, develop, produce, update, distribute, and evaluate prevention education tools, including curricula, videos, public education campaigns, policies, and toolkits.
- Work cooperatively and effectively with other SafeSpace staff, community-based Youth Services programs, other professionals, local agencies, and community members to further the reach and impact of SafeSpace, Inc.'s Y.O.U.R. program. Assist in training program staff and volunteers.
- Participate in staff meetings.
- Assist in keeping the Youth Services supplies storage areas neatly organized and clean. Restock supplies and inform the Outreach Manager of necessary repairs or needs.
- Respond to and document in Client Database calls from the crisis hotline and determine participant eligibility to enter shelter and/or outreach services.
- Provide age-appropriate safety planning and lethality assessments as requested.
- Input data into Client Database tracking systems to measure and document program outcomes and efficacy. Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports to funders, community supporters, and collaborative partners in accordance with grant, DCF, and SafeSpace standards. Document and report any evidence of child abuse or neglect as required by Florida Statutes and agency standards.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
