We are looking to fill the role of Press Team Lead. The Press Team Lead is responsible for directing resources for proper utilization in the production process and ensuring standard work is being followed. Manages shift activities to achieve customer expectations.

Responsibilities:
- Champions a safety-first culture by conducting safety observations and/or audits as directed, and performing safety incident investigations as needed. Actively engages with employees to improve workplace culture and policies, and provides feedback regarding any safety concerns or successes to the Safety Committee as a member.
- Drives production by leading continuous improvement efforts in waste reduction, cost savings, increase speed, and on time delivery.Partners with management in monitoring key metrics for assigned area of responsibility and develops courses of action to advance plant goals.
- Reinforces lean philosophy by participating in daily Gemba walks and discussions, monthly kaizen events, and other improvement activities as directed to support corporate objectives.
- Leads daily shift kick-off meeting, communicating priorities in: safety, quality, delivery, costs, maintenance, and scheduling.
- Verifies all required quality checks related to product specifications, visual, and functional checks. Reviews job tickets to ensure stock, print cylinders, dies, inks, substrates, tooling, and anilox rollers are used as specified.
- Supervises press operators and make-ready staff to ensure standard work adherence.
- Performs annual performance evaluations, progressive discipline, coaching and mentoring, training and development, and timekeeping for assigned employees.
- Administers pertinent safety, human resources, and quality assurance policies, while looking for ways to improve.
- Collaborates with other Team Leads to share lessons learned, sustain employee engagement, drive productivity, and challenge the status quo when necessary.
- May be required to perform other related duties as required and/or assigned.
Qualifications:
- Literate in MS Office applications
- Leads and develops team members.
- Demonstrates a respectful and professional image.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret internal and external communications to perform job duties.
- Effective interpersonal skills needed.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to determine "root cause" of problem and determine corrective action.
- Proficient knowledge of production materials, quality methods, and color standards are necessary.
- Excellent mechanical aptitude required.
- Experience operating a digital, flexographic, offset, or web press highly desired.
- Previous supervisory experience required.
