About the Role...

• Perform routine kitchen tasks.
• Follow the prep list created to plan duties.
• Label and stock all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessible.
• Measure ingredients and seasonings to be used in cooking.
• Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and other meal prep.
• Set up workstations and ingredients so that food can be prepared according to recipes.
• Undertake basic cooking duties, such as reducing sauces and parboiling food.
• Prepare simple dishes, such as salads and entrees.
• Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and taking out trash.
• Ensure that all food and other items are stored properly.
• Comply with nutrition and sanitation guidelines.
• Responsible for accurately checking and inspecting all foods, beverages, supplies, and equipment delivered to the receiving areas according to established department receiving guidelines.
• Moving goods to appropriate storage areas in a safe, orderly, and timely manner.
• Recording returns and breakages of deliveries and communicating them to Purchasing Manager.
• Reviewing Walk-In and Dry Storage has all necessary labels for storage.
• Bringing ingredients needed to use up to Purchasing Manager’s attention to reduce food waste

Who We Are Looking For...

• Minimum 1 year of kitchen preparation and food service preferred
• Basic cooking skills
• Deep knowledge of various meal ingredients and cooking equipment
• Working knowledge of food and sanitation guidelines and regulations
• Able to maintain a flexible work schedule
• Able to stand for extended periods
• Able to lift and carry materials up to 50 lbs
• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
