Job Description:
A postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of a pediatric orthopedic surgeon-scientist to work on NIH funded projects focused on developing new biologic and immunomodulatory treatments for juvenile hip osteonecrosis using in vivo and in vitro models. The projects also involve biomaterials application and regenerative tissue engineering. The research team is composed of a material scientist, bone biologist, bioengineer, and histology and animal technologists.
Duties/Responsibilities
Perform macrophage and mesenchymal stem cell culture experiments and biological assays.
Assist with animal studies and tissue analysis.
Design, synthesize, and characterize biomaterials and scaffolds under material scientist.
Analyze and prepare presentations and manuscripts.
Required Skills/Abilities
Applicant must have a PhD or equivalent in Regenerative Medicine, Biological Engineering, or Materials and Polymers. Candidate with experience in immunology, cell culture and biological assays, biomaterials fabrication, and characterization will be given priority for interview.
