Duties for Plastic Surgery Coordinator
- Schedule surgeries and procedures for patients in a timely and efficient manner
- Coordinate with medical staff, surgeons, and patients to ensure all necessary information and documentation is obtained
- Verify insurance coverage and obtain any necessary authorizations or pre-certifications
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date scheduling records and patient information in the system
- Communicate with patients regarding their surgery schedule, including pre-operative instructions and any necessary preparations
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth flow of patient care and scheduling
- Assist with administrative tasks such as answering phone calls, filing, and data entry
This position will be a hybrid front desk role and coordinator for our plastic surgeon.
Duties for Front Desk
- Maintains office procedures and assists with administrative tasks.
- Answers central telephone system and directs calls accordingly.
- Receives the public and answers questions, in person and by telephone; responds to inquiries from employees, patients and others and refers, when necessary, to the appropriate manager, co-worker, healthcare giver, or department.
- Operates office machines and computers as required to ensure patients are processed correctly and effectively.
- Duplicates and distributes materials as necessary.
- Composes, types and edits correspondence, reports, memoranda and other material.
- Assists patients with the use of the practice / clinic facilities or services.
- Adheres to all safety policies and procedures in performing job duties and responsibilities while supporting a culture of high quality and great customer service.
- Performs other duties that may be necessary or in the best interest of the organization.
Skills
- Proficient in using scheduling systems/software to manage appointments and procedures
- Previous experience working in a dental office, emergency room, or medical office setting is preferred
- Knowledge of medical scheduling processes and terminology
- Strong administrative skills, including data entry, filing, and phone etiquette
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and ability to maintain patient confidentiality
