We are seeking Certified Medical Assistants for our Sierra Vista location!
Must be flexible with hours and closing shifts.
MEDICAL ASSISTANT - DERMATOLOGY/PLASTIC SURGERY SPECIALTY
The Medical Assistant performs a wide range of duties and provides clinical support to the physicians and nurse practitioners to include taking patient vitals and health histories, assisting with procedures, performing injections and other tasks under the direct supervision of the medical providers.
- Checking patients in and taking their vitals and health histories.
- Assisting the clinicians as requested with various medical procedures.
- Collecting laboratory specimens and processing them.
- Performs CLIA waved tests such as pregnancy tests and urine dipsticks.
- Prepares and administers medications, to include performing injections.
- Sterilizes equipment used in direct patient care.
- Refills prescriptions as directed by the clinicians.
- Removes staples and sutures and changes dressings.
- Performs various medical procedures.
- Any other duties requested by the medical providers.
- Delivery of patient test results and clinician follow up plans.
- Responsible for telephone triage of all patients calling into the clinic with medical questions.
- Clerical duties as instructed by immediate supervisor.
Medical assistants must have knowledge of:
- Healthcare field and medical specialty
- Medical terminology
- Grammar, spelling, and punctuation
- Knowledge of EHRs

Education
- High school diploma; some college preferred
- Medical assistant certification
