PLANT MANAGER – Chemical Manufacturing
We’re looking for a strategic, driven, emotionally intelligent Plant Manager who is a strong leader, coach/mentor with a Safety 1st Focus, with heavy metal or chemical manufacturing experience.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proven experience in a leadership role in a metal manufacturing plant.
- Previous Plant Manager experience required.
- Turn around experience
- 10+ years of experience in leading metal manufacturing operations.

- Hands-on experience with driving/sponsoring Continuous Improvement/Lean Manufacturing
- Strong financial acumen & P&L experience

EDUCATION: BS degree in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, metallurgy, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Safety 1st focus.
- Provide strategic direction and leadership to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the plant.
- Oversee day-to-day activities, including production scheduling, process optimization, and quality control.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and drive initiatives to minimize the environmental impact of forging, rolling, and extrusion processes.
- Continuously assess and optimize processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality.
- Collaborate with technical teams to implement new technologies and methodologies for process improvement.
- Establish and maintain rigorous quality control measures to meet industry standards and customer specifications.
- Work closely with the quality assurance team to monitor and address any deviations from quality standards.
- Collaborate with supply chain and procurement teams to ensure a reliable and cost-effective supply of raw materials required for forging, rolling, and extrusion processes.
- Manage inventory levels to meet production demands and minimize waste.
- Develop and manage the operational budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and financial sustainability.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvement without compromising quality or safety.
- Lead and motivate a multidisciplinary team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Provide coaching and professional development opportunities for staff members.
- Stay informed about relevant industry regulations and ensure the plant's compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
- Implement a culture of CI, encouraging innovative thinking and proactive problem-solving among the workforce.
- Initiate and oversee projects aimed at enhancing overall plant performance.
