Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Maintains established procedures concerning quality assurance, provides clinical reviews and counseling, and helps navigate and troubleshoot prescription orders.
- Ensures compliance with laws governing the practice of pharmacy and distribution of drugs.
- Answers questions and provides information to pharmacy customers on drug interaction, side effects, dosage, and storage of pharmaceuticals.
- Engages in consultation with prescriber regarding of prescriptions.
- Ensures that stock and supplies necessary for customer care are ordered, stored, and handled in an organized and efficient manner in the absence of the Lead Pharmacist and/or manager.
- Offers free counseling to customers on how to use devices such as blood pressure or diabetes monitors.
- Strives to improve efficiency and reduce costs in pharmacy area. Plans, implements, and maintains procedures for shipping pharmaceuticals, according to policy and legal requirements.
Requires BA/BS degree in Pharmacy or Pharm D and minimum of 1 year experience working as a Pharmacist in a retail or mail order setting; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
