Position Overview:
Reporting to the Vice President of Supply Chain for the Americas, the Plant Manager provides overall plant leadership for the Turlock, CA manufacturing site. In your role, you will be responsible for managing Manufacturing, Packaging, Warehousing, Distribution, Quality, Safety, and purchasing functions. Additionally, you will be responsible for ensuring that products are produced in a safe, sanitary environment conforming to recognized industry GMP's and delivered in accordance with industry standards and customer specifications. This position is responsible for contracting with any outside services needed to maintain the equipment as well the facility itself. Monthly reporting of performance to upper management is also function of this position.
Essential Functions of the Job:
• Establish cost savings and goals involving staff and plant operations to achieve the lowest possible
manufacturing costs.
• Responsible for operational budget and maintaining budgetary controls.
• Build and maintain effective working relationships with all business functions internal and external to the
plant.
• Efficiently utilize all equipment, raw material, packaging materials and staff to ensure the lowest possible
cost.
• Establish plant quality programs that ensure the compliance with all federal, state, local and customer
requirements.
• Ensures that in-line quality controls are established to detect and correct quality failures and reduce out
of specification product.
• Ensure that all Health and Safety programs comply with state and federal regulations as well as
compliance with all company GMP's, local, state, and federal regulatory agencies.
• Maintain all required licenses for facility and products (ie city business license, city water discharge
permits, etc).
• Work closely with the Maintenance Manager developing preventative maintenance programs to prevent
processing disruption.
• Develop corrective action plans relative to improving production reliability and reducing downtime.
Requirements
• 10+ years of experience in chemical manufacturing, preferred or experience in general plant operations,
production supervision or plant management
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, or related degree
• Self-motivated and capable of developing and maintaining a team environment
• Demonstrated ability to be proactive in all phases of the operation
• Have an operating knowledge of computer and computer applications
• Demonstrated ability in analytical problem solving
• Proficiency in SAP or previous experience with another operating system
• Some domestic travel may be required approximately once per year.
Salary Range: ($100,000 - 138,000/year) Compensation offered will be based on the candidate's background and experience.
