Job Description
A growing Chemical Manufacturer near Valdosta, GA is looking to add a Plant Manager to their growing team of professionals. Their family mission is to prosper together by safely providing exceptional chemical services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversees the development and maintenance of procedures to ensure a safe and environmentally friendly facility.
- Responsible for reviewing investigations of Non-Conformities and Near Misses as well as training associates in determining root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Responsible for maintaining adequate staffing levels and training and development of managers.
- Develop product pricing
- Responsible for cost effectively meeting manufacturing and packaging output targets and assuring accurate inventory.
- Accountable for reliability of equipment and condition of facility.
- Responsible for ensuring good manufacturing practices are adhered to during the production of in specification material
- Responsible for communicating concerns regarding quality to the President and communicating with customers to resolve issues.
- Accountable for cost effectively managing resources to meet shipping and receiving needs
- Responsible for assessing priorities for capital projects and determining return on investment
- Responsible for ensuring evaluations of plant associates are completed.
- Responsible for overseeing, implementing and sustaining Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement initiatives
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college/University required (preferably either in Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering)
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience in plant operations management with proven results in a manufacturing setting required
- Strong understanding of Lean manufacturing concepts/methods, as well as process optimization techniques as well as Lean Six Sigma methodologies) required
- Demonstrated history of leadership and implementation of operational improvements that resulted in significant gains in plant operational efficiencies required
- Knowledge of federal and state health and safety regulations required
