Site Projects Project Manager (Plant Hatch)
Job Description:
This position reports to the Site Projects Manager. Responsibilities for all associated activities with Engineering, contracting, procurement, installation, start up, closure, and maintaining appropriate project controls throughout the project. The successful candidate will have authority and be held accountable for developing a project scope, budget, and schedule as well as an implementation plan for completing assigned projects while meeting the project goals.
Experience & Education:
Requirements:
- B.S. in a technical field, preferably Engineering or
- Significant Nuclear plant experience in Maintenance, Work Planning, or Operations
- Equivalent Military experience in Project Management - One of the above is Required
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, or ability to obtain within 1 year- Required
- Minimum three (3) years utilizing project management skills- Required
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels in the plant and engineering organization- Required
Preferred:
- Advanced degree - MBA, or degree with Project Management or Engineering focus
- Project Management experience in a Nuclear or heavy industrial environment.
- Previous leadership role directing activities of direct reports or team
- > 5 years power plant experience
- Prior responsibilities for budget/schedule management
- Project Management experience in a time sensitive outage environment
- Thorough understanding of nuclear plant processes and systems
- Demonstrated performance management skills, holding others accountable for business results and motivating employees to achieve their full potential

- Understanding of project control techniques
- Knowledge of material procurement, document control, and quality requirements
- Working knowledge of codes, standards, and technical specifications
- Working knowledge of plant systems, structures, and components

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Form and lead the project team.
2. Define and control project scope. Establish project deliverables and team objectives.
3. Establish and manage budget within project limits.
4. Develop and maintain detailed, accurate, and realistic milestone and working schedules. Ensure appropriate schedule coordination among all departments.
5. Coordinate development of conceptual designs and estimates.
6. Serve as the point of accountability for communication and provide communication across team.
7. Approve contracts for engineered, materials, equipment and services based on project engineer and asset manager recommendations.
8. Understand all assumptions in the business case.
9. Ensure site Vice President expectations are met and that he is kept fully aware of progress and participates in major decisions.
10. This position may require some travel.
Other Requirements:
- Successful candidate must be willing to step outside normal job duties to support leadership
- Successful candidate must be available for reasonable amounts of extended hours
- Successful candidate must be willing to serve Emergency response duty
- Support of plant on non-standard shift may be required
- Selected candidate will be required to live within one hour of Plant Hatch for emergency response availability
- Occasional travel to other SNC sites, industry meetings, and other plants
