Job Description
WAREHOUSE MANAGER, LYONS, GEORGIA PLANT
- The Warehouse Managerwill ensure all inbound / outbound Materials are handled and processed in accordance with company safety, food safety, security procedures, and good manufacturing principles.
- Work closely with Materials Manager, Plant Shipping / Receiving, Corporate Logistics and Distribution, 3PL’s, Plant Security, Plant SHE, and Quality Control in providing materials needed to support the functions of company material distribution (plant / external distribution centers / end customers) against set key performance indicators and goals.
- KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Daily assignments and monitoring of tasks to Shipping/Receiving and Lyons Warehouse (LW) associates including but not limited to:
- Departmental compliance with all company policies and always audit ready.
- Leading daily safety huddles, safety walks driving against regulatory and/or company compliance.
- Assigning / monitoring daily tasks against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to shipping / receiving / inventory functions including:
- Daily log distribution for shipping, receiving, and guard logs.
- Stock rotation for FEFO + inventory record accuracy –
- Cycle counting to investigate discrepancies -- when necessary.
- Ensure reports and inventory balances are communicated with Corporate in an accurate and on time manner.
- Supply inventory shortage reports to customer service.
- Verify and resolve any issues with EDI information sent to corporate.
- Provide root cause analysis as needed.
- Verify and resolve any issues with ASN (advanced shipping notices) for customers.
- Direct communication with transportation companies to ensure on time shipments and deliveries.
- Work closely with Uber Freight to schedule pickup of live loads and dropped trailers.
- Coordinate RO deliveries from our other DC’s.
- Work with broker and the port to schedule delivery of imports.
- Monitoring of truck turn time.
- Aid GA transfer team and receiving when needed.
- Facilitate the delivery and shipment of non-inventory products passing through LW.
- Coordinate and direct sorting project as needed.
- Coordinate FDA Holds and inspections at LW.
- Coordinate Hold product return to GA.
- Coordinate product disposal at the landfill including obtaining “Certificate of Dump” and photo documentation.
- Facilitation of safety meetings for GA Canning Shipping / Receiving and LW.
- Other duties as assigned
Employee training including:
- Facilitation / monitoring / tracking of associate training.
- Safety Compliance
- Employee 30-, 60- and 90-day evaluations.
- Employee disciplinary investigation + follow-ups, as needed.
- Investigation / completion of incident reports + required follow-ups, as needed.
- Monitor / track building and equipment inspection compliance and maintenance including:
- Overall cleanliness of the building.
- Tracking / maintaining sanitation documentation.
- LW pest control
- Open top schedule with waste service provider
- Forklifts / pallet jacks
- Jockey Truck
- Trailers
Monitor and track non-finished goods inventories including:
- Order supplies as needed for LW and GA Shipping.
- Ensure enough empty trailers on site for shipments.
- Manage pallet inventory including:
- Order CHEP as needed for LW.
- Maintain CHEP inventory monthly and year-end inventory.
- Coordinate brown pallet movement from LW to GA daily.
- Manage pallet height compliance.
- Manage Silgan can transfer including:
- Can transfers from LW to GA Canning, including shipping and receiving.
- Coordinate dunnage return to Silgan.
- Facilitate Special Projects as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Manager.
- Comply with all Company policies, GMP and safety requirements.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Prefer 4 year college degree with Supply Chain/Distribution training or
- High School Diploma or Equivalent and
- Minimum 5-year Manufacturing supervisory experience
- Able to work any shift including overtime and/or weekends
- Able to read, write and speak English
- Able to read can codes
- Knowledge with computers
- Knowledge of shipping schedules and truck loading formats
