The Plant Manager directs and coordinates all plant activities and personnel within their designated areas of responsibility, including Production, Manufacturing Engineering, Mold Engineering, Maintenance, and Quality, to meet our customers’ and stakeholders’ expectations. This must be accomplished in an environment where Safety is first and a balanced ‘lean’ approach continually achieves and improves Quality/Housekeeping/Service levels/Productivity. This position must partner with other functional areas, customers and suppliers in order to align plant activities with established business objectives and product/customer requirements.
- Direct and manage plant operations for Production, Manufacturing Engineering, Mold Engineering, Maintenance, and Quality ensuring consistent performance and a Continuous Improvement mindset throughout the organization
- Establish and monitor overall plant performance to meet Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost objectives
- Coordinate plant activities through the planning with departmental managers to ensure manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a cost-effective manner while meeting on-time-delivery requirements
- Develop and control profits, plans, and successfully create and manage to a budget.
- Implement cost effective systems of control over operating expenditures, workforce, and wages.
- Control and minimize labor overtime and repair expenses.
- Oversee maintenance of existing plant facilities and equipment, replace, or adjust plant facilities and equipment when necessary.
- Implement and maintain preventive maintenance programs to care for plant assets to maximize their useful life.
- Incorporate 6S principles including shop floor organization and plant cleanliness among plant team members.
- Provides direction, development and leadership to production technical leads.
- Lead regular staff meetings with supervisors
- Participate in monthly management business review meetings
- Develop and justify capital improvements
- Assist in product development and process improvement
- Provide leadership & training to accomplish company goals and objectives including facility safety standards.
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in a Manufacturing/Business related emphasis, prefer MBA
- Minimum of 3-5 years Plant / Operations Management experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Candidate must have a Strong Lean / Continuous Improvement Background with strong transformation experience
- Successfully created and managed a department budget.
- Experience in creating capital requests.
