DESCRIPTION
Michael Baker International, seeks a Planner to join the Transportation Planning team in the Carlsbad, CA office.
The Carlsbad Transportation Planning Department seeks a team member for all aspects of transportation planning, conceptual design and plan preparation for Transportation Planning and Traffic Engineering projects. Responsibilities to include conducting field work, preparing operational analyses, assisting with active transportation tasks, assisting with community outreach events and coordination, preparing maps, graphics and conceptual design for transportation projects, and assisting with VMT analysis and transportation demand management plans. Other duties include assisting in the preparation of Traffic Impact Analysis, GIS Mapping, shared parking & parking management studies, trip generation studies, sight distance calculations, and traffic calming concepts.
REQUIREMENTS
- B.S. in Civil Engineering from an accredited university
- 1-3 years related experience
- Completed coursework in Traffic Engineering or Transportation Planning
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Reliable method of transportation for project site visits and client meetings
PREFERENCES
- Master's degree in planning or related fields
- E.I.T. certificate
- Experience with Synchro, SIDRA, or Highway Capacity Software
- Experience with Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Goal oriented and quality focused
COMPENSATION
The hourly compensation range for this position is $33.00 - $51.00 per hour. This will be dependent on the experience and expertise of the incoming candidate.
