Position overview:
Reporting to the Chief Philanthropy Officer, the Philanthropy Manager will proactively manage and grow a portfolio of individual funders that support major organizational initiatives, working cross-departmentally to develop relationships and investments that uplift the Greater Good Charities mission.
Responsibilities:
- Grow dollars raised at the major gifts level ($10,000 +) through individual engagement and management of a portfolio of ~150 high priority donors and prospects.
- Create and deliver customized solicitation strategies based on GGC’s strategic objectives and the interests of the donor.
- Develop and execute moves management plans that involve personal visits, digital/mailed communications, phone calls, activities, and experiences, based on the donor's preferences and level of engagement. Track moves and be accountable for monthly, quarterly, and annual goals.
- Support maintenance of donor information in Salesforce and other drives and contribute to additional development systems to track funder relationships and uphold data integrity.
- Demonstrate mission knowledge by communicating our work in a manner that delivers impact, leverages support and results in new mission investment opportunities
- Other duties as requested are to support fundraising initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum five years of development experience, including major gift development.
- Extensive knowledge of fundraising principles and techniques.
- Ability to produce tangible fundraising results in a goal-oriented environment, including successful track record of closing current and/or deferred major gifts in the five-and six-figure range.
- Ability to empathize with donors, clearly communicate our organization's mission, and effortlessly move from high-level strategic thinking to frontline solicitation.
- An understanding of and ability to articulate the accomplishments and goals of a complex organization.
- Proficiency with donor CRM tools (Salesforce preferred) and MS Office. Ability to quickly learn software specific to the department or institution.
- Use sound judgment and discretion in handling and securing sensitive and confidential information, as well as the ability to conduct oneself in a highly professional manner.
- Superior time management and organizational skills; a high level of attention to detail and the capacity to work comfortably in a rapidly changing environment on multiple, ongoing projects. Ability to be effective, productive and take initiative while working remotely and independently out of a home office.
