Job Description:
Providesclinical support to Perioperative services by maintaining assigned patient careareas in a clean, safe, therapeutic, and customer oriented manner. Performsduties and resposibilies under the direct operational supervision of aregistered nurse, Periop supervisor, and clinical manager of PeriOperativeServices. Assist in maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment for patientsand/or family by maintaining patient care areas in a clean and orderly manneraccording to hospital policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Restockanesthesia carts in Ambulatory Services and Endoscopy. Assisting as needed inthe MOR, Cath Lab, L&D, and Bronch Suite.
- Alertsmanagement to the functional status of equipment in all Perioperative areas.
- Restockssupplies from SPD, Central Stores, and in the anesthesia machines and carts.
- Monitorsand replaces gas tanks in tank room, operating rooms, and patient stretchers.
- PreparesOR for scheduled and unscheduled procedures as needed
- Assemblesand provides the necessary equipment for each procedure
- Assistswith coordinating phone calls and scheduling cases for Perioperative servicesas needed
- Utilizesuniversal precautions and proper body mechanics and all assigned duties
- Safelyhandles and disposes of hazardous materials
- Transferspatients safely as required
- Transportsand protect patient specimens to the lab
- Cleansand disinfects in rooms in PeriOp area (OR, Endo, PreOp, PACU)
- Handles/Protectpatients belongings according to hospital procedure
- MaintainsOR equipment storage room
- Performsother duties as assigned

EducationQualifications:
High school diploma (equivalent).
Preferred Qualifications:
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification,or two (2) years experience in a direct patient care/nursing support role
