JOB DESCRIPTION
THE POSITION: Under general supervision of the Executive Director/Designee, the Performing Arts (PA) Instructor creates a dynamic learning environment offering instruction and experiences across a variety of areas of Performing Arts potentially including music, dance, theater, voice, filmmaking and audio visual production technology.. Under the direction of the principal/Executive Director of TVCS, the Performing Arts teacher will work collaboratively with the classroom teachers to assist and ensure that the California State Performing Arts standards are integrated into the classroom.
RESPONSIBLE TO: Executive Director/Principal
STATUS: Salary, Exempt
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
Employee shall follow all California state standards in the instruction of Visual and Performing Arts for grades K through 8th
Employee is to interface with existing Temecula Valley Charter School staff in the preparation of lesson design and implementation
Create a dynamic and engaging Performing Arts instruction program for all students across all grade levels
Organizes storage areas and controls use of materials and equipment to prevent loss or abuse
Selects and requisitions materials, equipment, and maintains inventory records
Organizes student concerts, theater productions, classroom performances, and special VAPA related events.
Serves as a liaison with the media with regard to the TVCS Performing Arts program
Works collaboratively with the Administration to maintain master schedule of MPR use by Performing arts (performances, classes, etc.)
Prepares Audio Visual Equipment for use by staff and guests in MPR as directed by Administration
Secures locations and necessary equipment for productions on and off site as directed by Administration
May produce and direct a musical theater (year- long program).
Teaches elective classes as directed by Administration

- OR Single Subject Teaching Credential - Music (Multiple Subject Credential with Added authorization in Music and/or Theatre or Dance will be considered.)
