Front Desk/ Receptionist

At Dance/10 Performing Arts Center we are looking for a front desk receptionist for our growing dance studio. In the dance studio world every day is something new. We are looking for someone who is available afternoon/evenings and weekends. This person will be positive and build relationships within our community, enjoy being collaborative, and be passionate about providing high-quality customer service.

Dance/10 Performing Arts Center is a family and community-centered performing arts center in Alameda, California. Our customers are always pleased with our use of age-appropriate & tasteful choreography, music, and costumes for children and adults.

At Dance/10 our slogan is that “we make memories that last a lifetime!” Our goal is to create a nurturing environment for students of all ages and skill levels. Over the past 40 years, we have been fortunate to have multiple generations of dancers take to our floors. One of our driving goals is to instill a passion for dance (for life) in all students.

Overview:

We are seeking a Front Desk/admin to run our front desk and assist with all aspects of our business between 3:00pm-7:30PM 2-3 days a week, and 9-1 on Sundays. Optional additional hours are available seasonally.

We are seeking an exceptional candidate who excels in customer service. The ideal applicant will possess the ability to efficiently complete tasks within deadlines while maintaining a focus on efficiency. Multitasking and stress management capabilities are imperative for success in this role. Your primary objective will be to guarantee seamless operations for both our customers and fellow team members while consistently delivering administrative tasks to the highest standards. As a valued member of our small but growing team, we prioritize qualities such as teamwork, loyalty, self-motivation, and reliability.

Duties Include:

• Greeting students and parents
• Providing customer service to parents and students
• Answering the phone
• Helping students enroll in classes
• Updating student information
• Taking payments and posting to accounts
• Discretion: can keep studio information private
• Occasionally helping young dancers with hair, going to the restroom, and wait for their parents
• Maintaining Front Desk
• Maintain Work Facilities. Maintain Dance Studio Tidiness: empty trash can if full, restock bathroom if needed, light cleaning
• Helping out with our shows
• General clerical
