Job description

We are seeking a People & Culture/Accounting Coordinator to join our outstanding team.

Coordinate the People & Culture department and some accounting duties for the hotel. Be the People & Culture on site liaison for associates and administrate payroll software. Job requires working with an outsource accounting firm to provide accurate and timely results.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Responsible for the human resources function including but not limited to staffing, employee relations and benefits administration.
  • Processing of payroll.
  • Assist with recruiting, orientation of new hires, disciplinary direction and action as needed with associates
  • Work with third party accounting firm to Process accounts payable, accounts receivable and month-end closing.
  • Work as needed with corporate office for accounting and HR task and updates.
  • Assist in the implementation and documentation of policies for accounting, Human Resources and other related hotel activities
  • Handle various other accounting related tasks.
  • Execute other duties as assigned by the General Manager.

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time well so as to productively and efficiently accomplish work tasks
  • Operate with the highest ethical standards and able to maintain confidentiality of work
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have competency with Microsoft Office software.
  • Experience (or the ability to learn) payroll, hotel PMS and accounting software is important (such as M3, Opera and Kronos).
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Able to communicate effectively with guests and other team members
  • Meets legal age requirements for the position

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma is preferred. Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or any other combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge skills and abilities. An accounting degree and/or Human Resources degree is preferred, Two to four years of directly related work experience in an upscale/luxury hotel preferred.

PAY SCALE

The pay scale for this position is between $25.00 and $29.00/hour. This is the pay range for this position that the Hotel reasonably expects to pay. Decisions regarding individual wage rates will be based on a number of factors, such as experience, type of hotel experience, and education.
