Job Summary: Performs a broad range of Sales, Account Management, and Customer Service duties.
1. Distributor Management: (80%)
- Responsible for developing and maintaining sales relationship with assigned region distributors:
- Performs monthly contact (phone calls, emails, etc.)
- Forwards direct sample leads and general leads to Distributor Sales Managers
- Logs all interaction using Salesforce, ensuring transparent communication with team members with who has been contacted and the outcome
- Reviews/analyzes monthly/quarterly/annual region sales reports.
- Provides weekly, monthly commentary to Sales Management
- Provides daily operational support for assigned sales territory, including:
- Reviewing sample requests
- Processing POS requests
- Logging region leads into Salesforce
- Depending on request for information, completes final touch point with operators for region’s directsamples.
- Responsible for monthly follow-up and sales support as needed to leads generated by region BrandAmbassadors.
- Manages regional manufacturer leads and development.
- Assists on an as-needed basis at special on- and off-premise trade events.
2. Customer Support: (20%)
- Backup to sales order processing from Distributors, Food Innovations, SOTF, The Perfect Purée website, Napa/Sonoma pickup orders, and special orders.
- Liaison with foodservice distribution center and freight carrier(s).
- Answering the telephone main line, offering assistance, information, or redirection as needed.
- Reviews and updates customer contact information, including phone, fax, address and buyers’ names in Navision and Salesforce.com.
- Assists with departmental communication to customers.
- Adheres to company recall and customer complaint processes.
- Assists with projects on an as needed basis.
Education/Experience: BA/BS preferred in addition to 4 to 6 years of work experience in Customer Service primarily or Sales/Administrative support. Experienced in the food service industry is preferred. Previous experience working with CRM software (Salesforce.com or another comparable system).
Skills: Team-oriented and independently motivated/disciplined with a demonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service. Excellent telephone etiquette, verbal and written communication skills. Must possess excellent organizational and analytical skills with keen attention to accuracy and detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Strong critical thinking skills using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems. Sound judgment and decision-making abilities are a plus for this position. Strong time and project management skills with an ability to manage priorities, multiple projects and meet deadlines. Ability to work productively and efficiently with limited supervision.
Knowledge: Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office, particularly in Word, Excel, and Outlook. Knowledge of Salesforce.com and Navision a plus. Knowledge of spreadsheet formulas and strong basic math aptitude.
