Family Health Centers of San Diego is looking for an Occupational Therapist (OT) who will evaluate, create treatment plans, and provide treatment for pediatric patients with fine motor, sensory, or feeding concerns. This position will also focus on prevention by developing and providing early intervention programs/services.
Responsibilities:
  • Communicates and engages with patients and/or parents/caregivers regarding evaluation results, treatment plan, goals, and treatment sessions. Provides home program activities to patients and/or parents/caregivers to ensure carryover to the home environment.
  • Communicates regularly with Referral, Case Management, Care Coordination, and Scheduling staff. Makes recommendations and follows through with referrals to outside agencies when appropriate. Assist with case management and referrals to external agencies, physical therapy, and speech language pathology.
  • Completes all required documentation accurately, in a timely manner, and thoroughly in accordance with department standards; in addition, documentation complies with patients' insurance requirements.
  • Designs an appropriate and effective treatment plan and works within scope of practice at all times. Monitors progress of treatment goals through periodic observations and assessments. Conducts re-evaluations when indicated.
  • Evaluates patients referred for occupational therapy, consultation, and/or early intervention services, for pediatric assignments. Performs evaluation according to each patient's needs, physician recommendations, and specific program guidelines/protocols.
  • May provide treatment at different clinic sites, off-sites, or patient homes based on caseload and department needs. Plans effectively for efficient use of time and resources when providing home visits.
  • Monitors and manages own schedule. Communicates with scheduling staff to keep schedule full.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
  • California State licensure as an Occupational Therapist (OT); Current National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy; Registered Occupational Therapist.
  • At least 2 years of experience in Occupational Therapy is required; Pediatric specific experience is required and experience in early intervention (0-3) is preferred.
  • Current American Heart Association healthcare provider CPR (BLS), or Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Advanced Trauma Life Support, or Advance Resuscitation Training.
  • Bilingual English-Spanish is preferred.
  • Ability and means to travel as needed in a timely manner within San Diego County. DRIVER REQUIREMENTS: Requires an active Class C California driver's license, proof of liability insurance at $100,000, on vehicle used. No more than 2 points in past 12 months; No suspensions in last 2 years for moving violations; No DUI, reckless or felony Driving within 5 years. No license revocation in 7 years.

In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the base range for this position, exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses.
$85,000.00 - $108,887.17
If you are hired at Family Health Centers of San Diego, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, jurisdictional requirements, skills, education, and/or experience. In addition to these factors - we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is what we reasonably expect to pay for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future and continued salary growth.
