Director, Commercial Launch Services Sales

SUMMARY
We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a passion for the space industry to lead sales for the Medium Launch Vehicle (MLV) product line. This position will be responsible for identifying, shaping, and securing contracts from commercial satellite service providers domestically and globally. This role is ideally suited to an experienced business development professional with an intimate knowledge of commercial satellite service providers.
JOB LOCATION - Washington, DC or Austin, TX
RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead strategy and capture for commercial MLV Launch Services Sales pursuits to include identifying, shaping, and closing Launch Services contracts with satellite service providers, manufacturers, and global civil space agencies.
• As Capture Manager, coordinate proposal development with the Proposal Manager, Program Technical Lead, and Strategy and present proposal strategy, pricing, and negotiation strategy to company leadership. Coordinate with the Proposal Manager to ensure compliance with solicitation documents and timely delivery to the customer.
• Lead customer engagement, shaping, and development of targeted marketing and sales strategies, collateral materials, and communications in coordination with Marketing and Communications.
• Participate in programmatic reviews and customer engagements for MLV-related missions.
• Coordinate development of business plans, pricing recommendations, and product offerings with Strategy.
• Participate in action reviews (AARs) for each proposal to document lessons learned to enhance proposal win rate and ease of preparation.
• Report capture status and updates to leadership on a periodic and timely basis.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required

• 10+ yrs. marketing, sales, or government relations experience
• Degree or professional experience in a technical field or equivalent experience, with ability to support technical proposals
• Demonstrated track record of creative problem solving and program development
• Excellent communications skills, both oral and writing
• Excellent organizational skills
• U.S. citizen, permanent resident alien, or otherwise able to review all export-controlled technical information

Desired

• Knowledge of commercial satellite service providers and programs
• Knowledge of the space launch industry and launch vehicles
