Reporting to the Senior Manager - Payroll, you will process all aspects of the payroll in a multi-state, union and non-union, international enterprise, and multi pay frequency environment. You will process the organization's payroll for multiple entities with 7,000+ employees.
What You Will Do
Payroll:
- You will prepare, enter and process all aspects of payroll for all payroll frequencies, including auditing, and reconciling for 1000+ employee base
- You will upload and update all payroll changes including voluntary deductions, 401k loans, W-4 and state withholding certificates via upload file or manual data entry
- You will research and resolve out of balance conditions
- You will balance and reconcile payroll registers to journal entries against GL
- You will generate manual checks as needed for terminations, payroll adjustments and special pays
- You will be responsible for reviewing union contracts and company policies to ensure compliance with pay and deduction related items
What You Need
- Bachelor’s Degree; OR High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 5 years of experience working with computerized payroll systems to include 1 years of payroll processing, multi-state environment and 2 years of experience working with state and federal payroll regulations reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
- Candidates are required to complete a credit check for this position; the results do not automatically disqualify a candidate from employment but will be individually evaluated to determine if the results disqualify the candidate for employment in such position.
- Experience using discretion when dealing with confidential information.
- Intermediate proficiency with MS Word and MS Excel, including basic Pivot Tables and vLookup function.
- Required to work overtime when necessary.
- Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.
- Required to be 18 years or older. This may be in addition to other age requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.
What Will Set You Apart
- 5 years of experience working with state and federal payroll regulations reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
- Experience with processing payroll in a union environment.
- CPP/FPC preferred.
- Skilled in the use of a 10-key by touch.
- Advanced Excel, ADP Vantage Payroll and Kronos timekeeping experience.
- In depth knowledge of payroll tax reporting and requirements, and state and federal payroll regulations.
Compensation:
- Hiring Salary Range Posted: $25.96 -$35.00
- Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
