Payroll Tax Analyst

Due to significant growth, IRT is looking to add a Payroll Tax Analyst to its already dynamic and highly professional HR team. We are seeking a permanent full-time Payroll Taxation associate. This is a perfect opportunity for a bright, analytical Payroll professional who enjoys working with a great team and interested in opportunity and growth.
We have corporate offices in Chicago, Philadelphia and Irvine that work a hybrid schedule and we will consider a fully remote / work from home candidate if not in Chicago, Philadelphia, or Irvine.

Payroll Tax Responsibilities

• Analyze multi-state Payroll Tax data and perform calculations, ensure that payroll information is reported and accurately paid to federal, state and local agencies
• Research & support the preparation and processing of accurate and timely federal, multi-state and multi-jurisdiction withholding tax payments
• Perform and build compliance and year end reporting
• Analyze financial taxation data
• Design, document, and review Payroll Tax processing procedures
• Provide ideas, solutions, and tools to increase effectiveness
• Remain current on legislation and regulatory ruling impacting payroll
• Audit employee data, tax set ups, requests, and escalations
• Review and take appropriate action with notifications received from taxing jurisdictions
• Partner with internal payroll teams to identify tax corrections and amendments that require processing
• Assist the Payroll Manager with special projects as needed

Requirements

• Proficiency in UKG (Ultimate Software/Kronos)
• At least 3 years experience in Payroll with specific Payroll Tax research and compliance responsibilities
• College level coursework in Accounting, Payroll, Human Resources, or similar
• Exceptional ability to research, gather and interpret data, and recommend process improvements
• Experience in documenting processes, as well as performing diagnostic tests and audits
• Ability to keep up with compliance and technical innovation and trends
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
