The Payroll Specialist and HR Support position is responsible for preparing the company’s weekly payroll for approximately 50 employees and will report to the company Controller. Related payroll tasks, assisting with HR related activities, and some accounting work round out the position. The Specialist must adapt to change, work well with people, multi-task, and be detail oriented.

Job duties:

• Preparing and processing the company’s 50 employee payroll
• Ensuring all payroll transactions are accurate and timely
• Managing payroll deductions
• Reporting certified payroll
• Maintaining personnel files
• Dealing sensitively with confidential matters
• Being point of contact for basic inquiries and requests, such as; direct deposit, requests for pay stub copies, employment verifications, and W-4 withholding.
• Assisting with safety related matters (incl. accident reporting)
• Performing other related payroll, HR, and safety related tasks as needed
• Job skills:
• Working knowledge of payroll practice

• Strong math skills
• Microsoft Office knowledge (particularly Excel)
• Keyboarding proficiency
• Good communication skills
• Highly detail oriented
• Solid organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
• Strong work ethic, team player and self-motivated

Preferred experience:

• 3+ years payroll experience, preferably for a contractor
• Core work week M – Fr, 7:30am – 4:00pm

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
