Payroll Specialist

Robert Half is partnering with a growing company in the Professional Services industry who has an opening for a Payroll Clerk in the Fairhaven, Massachusetts area who will support the Payroll department in a variety of duties. This is a challenging position with an industry leader, where a self-starter can find strong career growth opportunity. The company is a dynamic, fast-growing team, looking for an individual who can communicate effectively with both the internal team and outside customers. The Payroll Clerk's responsibilities will include data entry, reconciliation of timecards, paycheck distribution and providing statements to various departments. The Payroll Clerk position is looking to be filled on a long-term contract / temporary to hire employment contract.
How you will make an impact
- Supply the organization with instructions/training regarding the use of payroll-related systems including entry of timesheets, online access of pay statements, etc.
- Data entry into spreadsheets and the payroll system
- File, scan, fax, and perform other clerical duties as required
- Make sure data entered into spreadsheets and the payroll system is accurate
- Construct and run custom reports
- Communicate with organization employees via a variety of channels to obtain approvals of timesheets
- Distribute and administer reports as instructed

- Previous payroll experience

- Ceridian Payroll System experience highly desired

- Canadian Payroll experience

- Knowledge of benefits payroll

- General familiarity with ADP Online

- bi-Monthly Payroll experience

- Proven knowledge of Certified Payroll

- Well-founded grasp of ADP Workforce Now

- Automated Payroll experience desired

- Detailed and have the ability work independently

- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills

- Accurate, swift, data entry abilities

- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

- Proven ability to quickly learn new systems

- Prior knowledge in Payroll software
