The Tax Operations team works closely with our clients, agencies, and internal teams such as onboarding, customer care, and banking. Our primary focus is ensuring compliance with Payroll Tax filing and deposits for our clients.
The Tax Specialist will be responsible for contributing to the day-to-day success of the Tax Operations team. This individual will be responsible for the completion of tasks related to maintaining client tax profiles and ensuring a smooth client experience. In addition, the Tax Specialist will serve as a key contributor to larger team and organizational initiatives to drive improvement and efficiency as we continue to grow.
*Position is scheduled for a 2/12/24 start date*
About this roll*:
- Thoroughly research and assist clients with resolving Payroll Tax notices
- Correspond with tax agencies regarding inquiries, penalty waivers and tax clearances
- Knowledge of Payroll Taxes including federal, state, local and paid family leave
- Obtain accurate tax jurisdiction account information to ensure timely filing and payment of Payroll Tax obligations
- Maintain individual performance to meet established team goals and OKRs
- Perform routine Payroll Tax profile audits of existing clients to ensure accuracy
- Assists in monthly, quarterly and annual tax filings
- Processes and submits basic amended returns on behalf of clients
- Collaborate with clients to complete Third-Party Agent (TPA) setup
- Participate in special projects and/or other duties assigned
Do you have the right ingredients*?
- Experience working with tax notice resolution, amendments, filings and jurisdictions is required
- Associates or Bachelor's Degree preferred
- 1+ years experience working in a similar role or closely related field
- Must be able to have a printer in home workspace (company provided)
- Must be able to make occasional trips to the post office local to you
- Comfortable working with sensitive/confidential information
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel

- FPC or CPP certification
