Robert Half has partnered with a valued client that is a leading non-profit organization with over 200 employees across multiple states in their search of a Payroll Specialist. They Payroll Specialist will be responsible for bi-weekly payroll processing for 3 company codes, as well as posting journal entries for month-end, and other various light accounting tasks.

*Hybrid work model - 3 days in office, 2 days home per week*

Position Overview:

The Payroll Specialist will play a key role in ensuring accurate, compliant and timely payroll processing for over 200 employees with the aid of Paylocity. This position assists in the Payroll Department to ensure employees get paid accurately and on time. Therefore, we are seeking someone who is well-organized, detail-oriented, and knowledgeable about both payroll procedures and processing.

Responsibilities:

1. Manage the preparation, distribution, and reporting processes for payroll using Paylocity.

2. Ensure payroll processing is in compliance with federal, state and local laws.

3. Work closely with the HR department to ensure accurate and proper deductions and benefits tracking.

4. Prepare reports on payroll-related metrics for the management team.

5. Responsible for creating and implementing payroll policies and procedures.

6. Document payroll discrepancies, resolve any issues and answer any related questions from employees.

7. Participate in audits and provide payroll records upon request.

Desired Experience:

- 2+ years of payroll processing experience

- Payroll software experience (Paylocity or similar preferred)

- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

- Experience with Multi-state Payroll
