Payroll Specialist

Local agricultural company seeking motivated and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join the business office team serving several domestic companies.

This position will be responsible for leading the payroll activities and other special assignments as assigned.  Position will report to the Accounting Manager. 

Payroll Processing

·         Processing of both semi-monthly and monthly payrolls.   Review and approval of weekly payrolls.

·          Monitor and manage payroll deductions including, but not limited to a) Section 125k deductions, b) 401(k) employee elections and loan payments, and c) garnishment deductions.

·         Understand, coordinate, and implement processes for employee benefits including but not limited to deductions for health insurance, 401k plan and other miscellaneous deductions.

·         Direct Deposit uploads.

·         Process semi-monthly and monthly payroll tax deposits.

Reporting/Compliance and Reconciliation

All payroll reporting for the respective companies as required by law including but not limited to:

·         Semi-Monthly CA DE34 and Florida hire reporting.

·         Monthly CA 943 Employment Survey.

·         Quarterly IRS 941, DE9/DE9C and FL RT6.

·         Quarterly, Semi-monthly, and annual statistic survey.

·         IRS 943, 940, W2/W3, 1095-C ACA reporting.

Miscellaneous

·         Record/post internal transfers and transfers between companies.

·         Limited cash receipts/deposit and weekly reporting to management.

·         Issue manual checks as requested.

·         Banking “Positive Pay” export/upload.

·         Manage the payroll process to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll data.

·         Ascensus 401(k) payroll export/upload.

·         Other tasks/projects as assigned by management.

Required Experience/Education

·         Minimum 2-year experience processing payroll through governmental reporting.

·         General bookkeeping experience a plus.

·         Demonstrate knowledge and application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

·         Computer literate in MS Office applications, especially spreadsheets (pivot tables and macros a plus).
