Additional responsibilities will include providing support in the management of payroll day-today operations inclusive of all aspects of payroll processing. Must have demonstrated understanding of Federal, State, and Local payroll regulations including tax, wage and hour, and garnishments.
- Provide training, guidance, and assistance to end users to ensure they understand their role and requirements to ensure processing deadlines are met.
- Answering questions from employees and supervisors regarding payroll and time tracking matters.
- Coach and assist timekeepers, managers, and employees regarding utilizing Workday Time Tracking application.
- Oversee bi-weekly time tracking process inclusive of auditing time entry activity and reviewing variance reports to ensure compliance of company policies and FLSA regulatory guidance. Follow-up with appropriate parties to ensure compliance.
- Monitor and manage payroll legislation compliance associated with Department of Labor requirements.
- Ensure compliance with IT security protocols and maintain secure and proper storage to safeguard sensitive data and files.
- Responsible for providing feedback to Internal Auditor regarding findings associated with time tracking processes, assist with identifying anomalies and making recommendations for processes improvement.
- Upon requested will provide time tracking supporting documentation to external auditors for annual retirement and fiscal audits.
- Work in partnership with Project Lead for payroll and time tracking related test cases and scenarios that are assigned and are being tested as defined.
- Discuss with management any recommendations and implementation improvements to enhance functionality of the time tracking system and/or system testing process changes.
- Develop training procedures and associated materials for managerial review; working in partnership with Project Leads, conduct training and/or assign to others on team, as appropriate.
- Gather, assess, and document user requirements to understand current tasks and system functional needs and wants.
- Oversee Workday semi-annual system enhancements for functional area, test automatic enhancements to ensure no adverse implications in company tenant. Assess proposed enhancements that require additional setup and make recommendations on which enhancements to implemented.
- Develop and maintain a system to track and monitor testing phases (update, follow-up, escalation of issues) and document changes to procedures caused by system changes.
- Review, organize, summarize, and distribute upgrade materials to designated Project Lead.
- Support Payroll staff with some/all of the following calculating gross and net pay amounts, reconciliation of payroll records, provide customer support answering questions regarding payroll matters. This includes assessing customer inquiries and responding as appropriate. Some situations may require escalation and/or referrals to other payroll staff or managers.
- Create and maintain process documentation for all payroll-related processes.
- Actively participate on a variety of IT and/or payroll projects to support company initiatives.
- Other Duties as assigned by Payroll Management.
- Associate’s degree in a business-related discipline required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in processing multi-state payroll.
- 5+ years’ experience in a position where adherence to strict confidentiality of information was a major responsibility.
- Extensive knowledge of federal, state, and local employment law and payroll tax regulations.
- Prior Workday experience is REQUIRE
- Workday Time Tracking Pro Certification preferred.
- Ability to work independently on materials and draw conclusions from analysis, and act as the guide to management in assessing outcomes.
- Must possess well-developed analytical, critical thinking, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in software testing, tools, and utilities, and performing quality assurance methodologies.
- Strong organizational and communication (listening, verbal, written) skills.

- Strong PC skills including demonstrated experience with standard office productivity tools (Microsoft Office). Advanced excel knowledge including pivot tables is required.
