Payroll And Accounting Specialist

Bear's Restaurant Group is seeking a part-time Payroll and Accounting Specialist to work Monday, Tuesday and Wednesdays processing weekly Payroll and assisting the Accounting Manager with basic accounting tasks. Approximately 20-25hrs a week with ability to work additional hours to help cover vacations, etc. This is an immediate need to fill and may require more hours upfront during training.

I. Position Summary:

The Payroll and Accounting Specialist will be responsible for assisting the Accounting Manager with daily activities listed below, with a primary focus on completing weekly payroll.

II. Primary Responsibilities:

Payroll:

• Process weekly hourly and salary payroll
• Enter and reconcile all hourly and manager leave accruals
• Confirm all insurance and retirement plan deductions are processed accurately
• Maintain employee payroll profile records including salary changes and termination dates

Accounting:

• Daily payables activities: invoicing, payments, print & mail checks, reconcile vendor statements
• Enter and print credit card transactions
• Enter bank feeds and reconcile bank activity
• Reconcile tip income
• Open and route mail
• Place supply orders
• Other accounting and office related duties as assigned

III. Requirements

Physical:

• May occasionally need to lift 20 lbs
• Sitting at a desk with computer screen for prolonged periods

Other:

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive company and employee information
• Must be a team player and be flexible in responsibilities with a detail-oriented focus while also being able to work independently
• Strong analytical and organizational skills
• Strong ability to multi-task and have the confidence to raise concerns and convey ideas

Skills/Qualifications for Ideal Candidate:

• 1-3 years of Payroll and Accounting experience (restaurant experience preferred, but not required)
• Great verbal & written communication skills and strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
• Self-motivated, results driven, possess organizational and critical thinking skills
• Must be proficient in excel
• Other advanced computer skills including word, google docs
• Business math and Accounting skills
