Job Summary:
The Payroll Specialist will manage all payroll activities and ensure the timely and accurate payment of employee wages. This position will also provide other administrative duties as assigned.
Essential Functions:
Process hourly & salary payroll ensuring the integrity & accuracy of payroll remittances & reporting.
Process bi-weekly and semi-monthly payroll using our HRIS (ADP)
Ensure each payroll is properly documented.
Calculate wages to ensure accuracy & compliance with federal & state law.
Manage time and attendance workflow to ensure all timesheets, time off requests, and other payroll data are received timely and are accurate, complete, and in compliance with state and federal payroll standards.
Recording and maintaining payroll transactions.
Answering questions and resolving issues regarding payroll.
Reconcile payroll data and resolve discrepancies as needed.
Assist in the implementation of payroll process improvement and system enhancements.
Required Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED
A certification or bachelor’s degree is desirable.
3+ years in processing both hourly and salary payroll
Extensive knowledge of payroll functions including preparation, balancing, and internal control
Proficient with payroll software
Extensive experience in processing hourly wages according to state law
Ability to prioritize effectively, meet deadlines, work with others, and follow through to execute all tasks.
Commitment to customer service with a strong sense of ownership of projects and results
Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to work within tight deadlines.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Experience in payroll administration.
Proficient with payroll software
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Exceptional mathematical and calculation skills
