General Summary and Purpose:
The Payroll Specialist is a core team member of the Accounting Department. The Payroll Specialist
is responsible for assisting with the day-to-day operations of the payroll department.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Processing bi-weekly payroll which includes monitoring the time tracking system, maintaining and entering all payroll data for each processing, auditing, and resolving issues.  Payroll Administration for several business entities and with 200+ team members.
• Maintain database of personnel information and accurate payroll records.
• Conduct regularly scheduled audits of payroll records to ensure continued accuracy.
• Prepare paychecks/direct deposits to ensure that employees are paid on time and in the correct amount.
• Cooperate with different departments to increase payroll service performance.
• Maintain Child Support and Garnishment.
• Familiarity with General Ledgers processes for Payroll entry into the accounting system. 
• Processing third party funding and record keeping
• Data conversion for possible HRIS system change.
• Collect, verify, and record employee attendance, including hours worked.
• Compute wages, commissions, and deductions.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws, including remittance of payroll taxes.
• Handle employee complaints about incorrect payments and resolve discrepancies

Reporting Relationship:

This position reports to: Payroll Manager

Job Requirements:

• Computer literacy, including Excel, Word, Outlook, MS Teams, Report writing, Adobe.
• Experience in handling complex payroll issues and exceptions.
• Organizational skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple goals.
• Ability to work well as an individual and as part of a high performing team.
• Excellent knowledge of accounting principles related to Payroll.
• Experience with multi-state payroll processing and taxation.
• Experience with Sarbane-Oxley standards.

Job Specifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or associate degree with equivalent experience preferred
• 3+ years of payroll processing experience
• Knowledge of payroll industry software tools, ADP, Net Suites, UKG, Ceridian.
• Familiar with payroll Time Keeping Systems. Kronos, APD, UKG, Ceridian
• Payroll Certification APA encouraged.

The US base salary range for this position at full-time is $53,869.00-$80,752.00 per year.  Our salary ranges are determined by position, level, location, and market competitive benchmarks.  Individual pay within a level is determined by work location (including geographic pay zone region), job related skills, experience, education, and training.
