What you'll do:
The Brass Tacks
  • Stay up to date on state and federal payroll and tax laws.
  • Ensure an accurate and timely payroll, including base pay, payroll taxes, 401(k), statutory and supplemental benefits, etc.
  • Assist with semi-monthly and quarter-end processes including reconciliations and analytics, and respond to employees' questions regarding salaries and taxes.
  • Assist clients with best practices training when the opportunity arises.
  • Analysis of retro inquiries and inter-company allocation discrepancies.
  • Calculate and validate manual check processing.
  • Report any anomalies to the supervisor
  • Process semi-monthly and bi-weekly multi-state payroll for US non-exempt and exempt team members.
  • Conduct regular audits on payroll procedures and records.
  • Perform other payroll-related duties, including ad hoc projects/data requests as needed.
  • Manage payout processing in compliance with multi-state final pay requirements.
  • Analyze compensation-related data including wages and bonuses.
  • Coordination of payroll processes for a small team; monitor workflow, team assignments, and processing deadlines.

The Nitty Gritty
  • Ability to multitask and handle a high volume of transactions for multiple clients while ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • In-depth knowledge of state and federal payroll and tax regulations.
  • 6+ years' experience processing payroll in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • 2+ years' experience training and coaching other team members
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential; this position is the point of contact for payroll queries.
  • Capacity to manage projects/workflows during busy periods.
  • Outstanding organizational skills, and self-motivated to meet deadlines within tight schedules.
  • On-site position, flex schedule within core business hours
