Job Summary:
Akima is looking for a Junior Payroll Specialist to join our team! The Payroll Specialist will assist with general payroll processing. Assist with time records, compiles payroll personnel action notices from Human Resources. To join our team of outstanding professionals, apply today!
Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities:
- Assists in payroll to include maintenance of records, data gathering, generation and distribution of paychecks.
- Creates and maintains/updates payroll department documentation of processes and procedures.
- Retrieves documentation required for audit purposes.
- Job cost payroll processing and computations.
- Computes pay according to company policy.
- Reviews payroll to ensure accuracy.
- Assists in resolving errors and resolves payroll related complaints.
- Responsible for distributing emails from the payroll email boxes to the appropriate staff for action.
- Logging all tax notice related mail in the SharePoint database.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum high school diploma.
- Requires understanding of payroll, accounting, and bookkeeping principles, practices, and procedures, as well as payroll taxes.
- Must be able to work in a fast paced, deadline-driven work environment.
- Experience in Deltek Costpoint preferred.
- Must be able to travel to Charlotte, NC for training upon hire and then periodically as needed. (This travel cost is reimbursed.)
