Top Responsibilities of the Payroll Clerk:
- Manage the end-to-end payroll process for unionized employees, ensuring accurate and timely distribution of wages.
- Verify and process union dues, pension contributions, and other deductions in accordance with collective bargaining agreements.
- Stay current with union agreements, labor laws, and regulations to ensure compliance in payroll processing.
- Prepare and submit required reports to union organizations and regulatory agencies
- Maintain accurate and organized payroll records, including time and attendance data, benefit information, and union-related documentation.
- Respond to inquiries and provide necessary documentation during audits.
- Collaborate with HR, finance, and other departments to gather necessary information for payroll processing
- Address payroll-related queries from union representatives and employees in a timely and professional manner.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in payroll records promptly.
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to address and resolve payroll-related issues.
Qualifications: Payroll Clerk
- Associates degree
- Previous experience in a payroll position
- Experience processing union payroll
- Proficient in using payroll software and systems.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
