Payroll and Benefits Specialist

The MDI Biological Laboratory seeks a highly organized Payroll and Benefits Specialist with precise attention to detail and career goals for joining an HR department.

As a member of the Human Resources team, the Payroll and Benefits Specialist will be responsible for processing the organization’s payroll, to include collecting payroll data to maintain accurate payroll records. This position will carry out responsibilities in the following functional areas: payroll, benefits administration, new hire orientation/onboarding, and separation from employment processes.

Required skills include:
Demonstrated experience working in a payroll function in a medium size organization with in-house payroll, or the equivalent demonstrated skill.
Demonstrated familiarity with employee benefits and the desire to learn more of our benefits program.
Advanced MS Suite and Adobe skills.
Careful attention to detail and accuracy of work, with a commitment to confidentiality
Interest in working in a highly flexible team environment; developing new skills and expertise, within an environment focused on team success.

Preferred qualifications include:
BS/ BA degree or equivalent experience in Payroll or Human Resources
A passion for data integrity and interest in growing as an HR professional in a supportive team environment.

This is a full-time, hourly (non-exempt) position with excellent benefits.
