We are currently seeking a qualified Payroll and Benefits Administrator to join our team. This role reports to the Chief Financial Officer, and will be responsible for the following:
- Process weekly, in-house, non-union payroll in a timely manner for approximately 150 employees.
- Thoroughly review computed wages and deductions to ensure accuracy, balance accounts, and resolve discrepancies.
- Process weekly withholdings garnishments and other payroll deductions.
- Prepare federal and state weekly tax submissions, quarterly tax returns, and annual W2s.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state payroll taxes and workman’s compensation regulations.
- Complete 401(k) and worker’s compensation audit requirements timely and accurately.
- Maintain 401(k) employee portal.
- Manage worker’s compensation claims and function as the primary liaison between the company, supervisors, and medical providers.
- Ensure OSHA log is updated and posted annually.
- Lead and execute annual benefits open enrollment process and advise management on the most optimal benefit options that will meet employee and company needs.
- Collaborate with benefits consultant to ensure eligible employees are enrolled and employees’ needs are effectively met.
- Engage in on-going benefits planning and administration and provide daily support to employees.
- Conduct annual benefit surveys to gather employees’ feedback and address concerns.
- Participate in new hire orientation to review benefit options for all new employees and ensure benefit paperwork is completed in a timely manner.
- Reconcile monthly benefit invoices in a timely manner.
- Manage annual ACA compliance.
- Manage all leave of absence requests.
- Answer outside inquiries regarding employment verification as it relates to payroll for loans, mortgages, and employment requests.
Education and Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years of Payroll and Benefits administration experience.
- Thorough knowledge in the entire payroll process, including tax reporting.
- Thorough knowledge of employee benefits.
- Thorough knowledge of generally accepted accounting/payroll (GAAP) practices.
- Strong knowledge of general labor law guidelines.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local legal requirements.
- Excellent communication, people skills, and maintain a high degree rapport with all levels of the organization.
